Infant CPR & First Aid Class
W.O.L.F. First Aid will be holding an "Infant CPR & First Aid Class for Parents" February 18th from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, and again on March 8th from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm in Carstairs. Rhyming Together
A fun, upbeat experience for parents/caregivers & their children ages 0-5. Rhyming Together provides parents with the skills to deal positively with their children during cranky, fussy times, and also sets the stage for early literacy. Where: Cremona ParentLink, 202-2 Street W, Congregational Church basement. When: Tuesdays, February 14th to April 24th. Time: 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Cost: Free! Each class includes a delicious, healthy snack and a rhyming booklet. Please call 403-507-7747 to register.
Cremona Ski Trip to Nakiska!!
Friday, March 9th (a no-school Friday) 6:30 am to 5:15 pm. Board the bus at the Cremona arena and join us for a great day of skiing or snowboarding! Children ages 10 & under must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone welcome!
Fees are as follows, and vary according to age:
Grades 1-6: $78 w/lesson, $50 w/o lesson.
Grades 7-9: $88 w/lesson, $60 w/o lesson.
Grades 10-12: $103 w/lesson, $75 w/o lesson.
Adults: $131 w/lesson, $101 w/o lesson.
These prices include lift ticket, rental & transportation. GST is extra.
Registration forms are available at the FCSS office, call 403-637-3731 for more information.
Registration deadline has been extended to Friday, February 24th.
The Big Cook is back!
Do you want to prepare nutritious meals for your family but find it hard to make the time? Come & try THE BIG COOK!! In a few hours you will create 18 freezer meals ready to throw in the oven or crockpot! The menu includes: Quebecois Chicken, Grill of a Lifetime, Sesame Sweet Chicken, BBQ Beef, Mighty Meatballs, All You Need is Loaf, Cranberry Pork Chops, Cantonese Sweet & Sour Pork and Lentili Chili. Friday, March 23, 7 pm-9 pm. Location TBA. $250 for 18 meals ($14/meal), each meal feeds 4-6 generously. Registration & payment deadline is March 14th. (After this date you are fully committed. We are unable to accommodate any changes after this date as the order will already be placed.) Participation is on a first come/first served basis, and only 12 spaces are available. Community ChooseWell Challenge
Communities ChooseWell is a campaign promoting healthy eating and active living. Some resources on local produce and the Canadian Food Guide are: www.albertafarmfresh.com and http://hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/food-guide-aliment/index-eng.php
ChooseWell will be integrated into the Summer Fun program at Cremona FCSS. Also, a calendar of suggestions for healthy living has been sent home with children in Kindergarten to Grade 5. If you are interested in this calendar, copies are available at Cremona FCSS.
MAGIC MEALS FOR YOU! A fresh & frozen meal service. Hearty meals to feed you 5x/week. Prepared by Camp Kindle staff & includes homemade soup, buns, entree & sweets. Menus available at FCSS. $50/week/person, subsidies available. Delivered to Cremona & Water Valley fresh on Tuesdays. Call FCSS for more info. 403-637-3731. Due to continuing low registration, we've decided to end this program. FCSS will continue to take names of those interested and potentially resume the program once a minimum number of participants (10-15) is reached and sustained.
